SIMPLE FITNESS EXERCISES FOR WEDDING DAY

You’re all set to get married! The venue is finalized, dress selected, catering choices confirmed, floral and décor arrangements done. Around this time is when you realize you need to tone down and get lean. Most brides realize this early on but have too many things to take care of before they can finally concentrate on themselves. It’s a bit intimidating to know that you will be the center of attention and all eyes will be on you.

Ensure that your workout is balanced with a good diet that supports weight loss. Every bride should have an ideal goal set for her weight loss. Dresses are fitted to show off your body structure to perfection.   • 30 seconds rest period

  • 3 minutes jumping jacks and knee lifts (1.5 minutes each)
  • 30 seconds rest
  • 2-minute plank holds (1 minute on knees and arms and 1 minute on toes and palms)

Once you are done with this, take a break for 2 minutes and have a small sip of water. Repeat this circuit twice more and end with stretches. Mix up the exercises slightly if you wish to avoid repetition. Walk at a brisk pace or go for a jog every day for at least 30 mins post your workout.

Sunday is your day of rest.

2Weeks 2 and 5:

Mix up different functional exercises according to your body preference. If you feel you need to concentrate more on hips, then add more squats and lateral floor hip exercises. If you want to tone your arms down, concentrate more on biceps and triceps curls and so on. Train in circuits according to your preference of workout style for spot toning, and repeat this at least 4 times with shorter rest intervals.

Walk at a brisk pace or go for a jog every day for at least 40 mins post your workout.
Sunday is your day of rest.

3Weeks 3 and 6:

Complete more circuits in lesser time while reducing rest intervals. Concentrate more on cardio (running, jogging, and jumping jacks) rather than spot work or floor exercises. Increase metabolism in your body by increasing your cardio output.

Run for 30 mins at a comfortable pace everyday post your workout. Once done, steadily decrease your speed to a steady walking pace while breathing in a normal steady manner.

Always pay attention to your diet to complement any workout schedule. Avoid oily, fatty foods, and decrease intake of carbohydrates. Instead, stock up on fruit, vegetables, and protein to increase your energy and make your skin glow. Restrict your dairy choices to feta or goats cheese, and reduce alcohol and smoking. No exercise routine is complete without water – drink at least 2-3 liters of water daily so that you are able to flush out all the toxins from your body.

You will naturally lose weight as your wedding day beckons because of all the last minute running around. Avoid energy drinks and opt for fruit juice or coconut water to revitalize your body.
